The photographer, Ann O'Hagan, is a native of southeast Michigan, born in
Dearborn and now residing in the Ann Arbor area. Newly retired after thirty-five
years of teaching high school (the last twelve in computer studies at Chelsea High
School), Ann is now directing her energies to national and world travel and the
pursuit of creative photography.
Supported by a background of art and photography classes at St. Mary's College in Indiana and at Eastern Michigan University, Ann has recently studied with such nationally recognized photographers as Joe Englander, Larry Mitchell, and Steve Gilroy. Her goal is to appeal to the viewer's aesthetic sense by conveying the beauty of landscapes - both natural and manmade.. She endeavors to capture the essence of the elements of art present in locales both at home and abroad through classic color photography. Framed enlargements of her work have been displayed at the Ann Arbor Art Center Gallery Shop, Mountain Jacks's, Afundi's, University of Michigan Hospital and the Ann Arbor Public Library. Frameable notecards made from her photography are selling in Ann Arbor at the Art Center Gallery Shop, at Hollanders in Kerrytown, and at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Several other locations around the country carry the cards including Navy Pier in Chicago and the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Her work has also been published in the Sunday Journal newspaper (Washington DC area) |
